AAW Update – Feb 2017

2016 was a great and interesting year for the AAW Collective Impact Initiative.  Here are some of the highlights.

  • Thanks to reference group we established our Steering Group and working groups for the youth at risk work and our evaluation.
  • We received funding from Working Together More Fund, TTCF and Foundation North to support the establishment of the initiative and the youth at risk work.
  • The MOE brought in changes that positively impact on how schools work with students at risk of disengagement that means that supports and transitions can be actions before a student is excluded, AND that enable students to remain engaged in education.
  • The Deputy Principals of the West Auckland High Schools under AAW got together for the first time ever to discuss the MOE changes and how the West Auckland community was proactively working towards a better system that supported students at risk.
